XM and Sirius in Canada
The Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (Canada’s FCC) approved this week both XM and Sirius satellite radio services to be marketed and broadcasted over Canada. Neither company could legally market the service in Canada but Americans traveling with either XM or Sirius have been able to receive a signal for the most part of Canada ever since the services launched. The ruling requires both companies to have 1 out of every 10 channels in Canada and have at least a quarter of the content on them in French.
No dates on the release of the service have been scheduled yet.
