George Lucas opens new headquarters
New Letterman Digital Arts Center in San Francisco was opened recently which will be George Lucas’ new empire for entertainment industry’s digital arts and entertainment center. The front door entrance includes a stone fountain statue of Jedi master Yoda. Lucas stated that he would like to focus more on smaller films this time and work on the final “Indiana Jones” film.
“In terms of being a corporate executive, I’m pretty much tired; I’m going to focus on making movies” Said Lucas.
The center is a 23-acre complex with several movie theaters including one with 300 seats in house. State of the art 10 gigabyte ports stretch more than 600 miles of cable delivering fiber-optics to each workstation. Not everyone is moved yet as employees will begin arriving in early July. The move will allow directors as well as actors and game developers to work together on new special effects and digital images. Lucasfilm Ltd., special effects house Industrial Light & Magic and LucasArts will all be moved to the new center.
