100Mbps broadband scheduled for release in NY
Cablevision announced that it will be rolling out their symmetrical data service of 100Mbps download connection in New York metropolitan area. While at the same time Adelphia announced their Extreme High-Speed Internet which is supposed to give users 16Mbps downstream speed and 2Mbps upstream. It is obvious that more companies begin to feel the competition heat from the new Verizon broadband-over-fiber FiOS service expanding into their territory.
“As the Internet continues to expand, we are committed to delivering the fastest and best networks possible,” said John Pitek, Regional Vice President for Marketing & Sales. “We are working to be among the first broadband providers to deliver these services, reliably.”
